I had visited and read some forums online about Filipinas as housewives to foreigners, or let me say homemakers to the whites. I’ve enjoyed reading the comments of different race. Of course, Filipinas would say they are proud that white men, especially American men, appreciate them so much for being passionate and warm. But there are a lot of negative comments posted by American women. They say, Filipinas are gold diggers, nasty, rude, not kind to their foreign husbands, most of all, unlikely to be wives but maids.
I feel so sad and insulted with the comments. I told myself am lucky enough for having a Filipino husband, and had not experienced this kind of humiliation.
Well, let’s justify what those white women said about us Pinays. Let’s put it in the fair and same context.
Say for example, a less educated poor American woman is married to an aged rich man of different or same race, what can you comment about that? I won’t name names here. Just look at some of your young celebrities married to rich old crocs. You know who they are.
Same goes to Filipinas and women of the world with the same status. Some ended up a happy family, few ended up in divorce or annulment, or worse, domestic violence. There’s no perfect relationship. If the couple cannot handle it, then what can you expect?
It’s so easy for you guys to conclude that we, Filipinas, are gold diggers. Look at you American women. In the first place, you American women must be blamed why your old folks are coming to Philippines and look for a young woman to marry. Your men would not go to our country to marry Pinays if you treated them with respect. You American women are so proud that you are liberated. You don’t want to be equal with men but you want to be superior among your husbands. And you blame Filipinas?? Tell your government not to allow your men to come to Philippines, prohibit them from cyber dating and from proposing marriage online. The truth is, You American women cannot stop them. Oh, can I make a request? Tell your old men not to look for a woman to marry in a bar. What can you expect from a lady who is so young dancing in the bar? She will just leave that old man if he doesn’t have money to support her. And is this just isolated case for Filipinas? No! Go to other countries or in your own country and you’ll see.
To American men, you should court a Fili woman in her house, know her family, friends, lifestyle, and decide if you want to marry her or no. It’s true that our young ones support the oldies, but it’s up to you how you and your wife would deal with it. Use your heads. If you end up marrying a scammer, it’s your fault. So, be wise. If you American men don’t want your Fili wives to be as nasty and rude like your blonde ladies, don’t bring them to USA so that they can keep their values.
You American women must be thankful to us because we help you save your own old folks from homelessness and loneliness. In your country, they will die unhappy in nursing homes. We also have nursing homes in our country, but less percentage compared to yours. As much as we can, we take care of our parents and grannies.
A young American guy said in the forum what he would do with a Pinay,” 4Fs”. Find, Feed, F***, and Fire her after he gets what he wants. All I can say is, we would do two things to your old folks if you don’t treat us nice, 2F’s , F*** and fire!!
You keep on saying that we are from the poor country, unpopular and remote area. Hello world…Who doesn’t know Philippines? Who doesn’t know Charice ,Manny Pacquiao who paid big tax for playing boxing in Sin City, Las Vegas….and oh, I forgot, What’s your place in Miss Universe 2011?
Our rich, middle class, and less fortunate women know how to cook without using a rice cooker. How about you American ladies?
You are from a strong, powerful and rich country but why are you unhappy? You have high percentage of suicide, psychologically challenge and broken families. You see? There are a lot of things you need to change in your country. Stop looking at the flaws of our Beloved countrywomen.
If you ask Fili men what can they say about Fili wives, they would say a lot of good things. What would your American men say about American wives? Ahhh, just look at forums online about American women as partners at home…divorce, divorce, divorce, divorse, divorce.
You say we are lazy? Hello, why does American companies outsource in our country then? You would say we are ungrateful of the jobs you provided us? Well, thank you, but excuse me, you compensate us for the service we provided you. We are not beggars. Give and take, ok? Some says, customer service (call center) is poor in Philippines. Tell your American companies to give us a good training on how to provide good service to arrogant Americans, and how would we hold our tempers while listening to your blah, blah, blah.
You say we spoke English so bad, accent is bad. We don’t own that language, why would we care how we say it. The most important is you understand it. Filipinos speak better and straight English than other neighboring countries, that’s why we are the center of BPO here in asia. Well, that’s your own language but it’s a shame that some of you can’t even perfect your grammars. On the contrary, we are proud and happy if we hear foreigners speaking our language or one of our dialects. We are multilingual race.
Millions of Filipinos are working abroad for their families, yet we are still strong and proud to be Filipinos. You call us workers, maids, low class, so be it….we will work for our families and its none of your business how should we run our lives. Our corrupt government can’t provide for us, so we go out. We are not proud though for having a corrupt government…yeah, we are not proud of it…The government can’t help us, so we do the other thing, we help the government to recover instead.
I am still hoping that Philippines would someday be economically competitive. It would be a perfect country for family loving people. But you American women? You have a rich country but there will be less hope for you to have intact families…..Look at yourselves before saying negative things among us Filipinas…Mind your own Lives……GOD BLESS AMERICAN MEN, MABUHAY FILIPINAS.
(I apologize if a good American Mom reads this post, but thanks for reading.)
